Expensive Parrot-head

Recently, USAToday ran a quick 5 Questions For Jimmy Buffett in it's Lifestyle section. In addition to being, essentially, a cover band of himself these days, Buffett is also an author. His latest novel, Swine Not? A Novel Pig Tale is about a pig that lives in a hotel in New York.

Ahem...

USAToday's questions were fairly simple, but they didn't ask the one question that I've wanted to ask Buffett for years:

How the hell does a "frozen concoction maker" sell for $379.00?

The short answer: Jimmy Buffett fans are affluent and he understands his customer.

  2. Question #6:

"Mr. Buffett. . . do you consider yourself a sellout?"

  3. Hiya Anonymous: That answer is a perfect spin on what I consider, in truth, to be the actions of a sell out. But that's just me. If Jackson Pollock had lived and sold high priced art supplies with his initials engraved on them from the gift shop of a cheeseburger stand, I'd call him a sell out. There's no difference here.

See, the worldly and wise Mr. Chinchilla gets it, too.

  4. Those frozen margarita makers (not Jimmy Buffet named) sell for close to $300 at Linens n Things, so I guess they're just expensive.

Makes me happy I don't enjoy "slushie" drinks - on the rocks is good enough! LOL.

  5. Correction: I think it's the same one at Linens n Things. It's $299 plus FREE shipping! Sheesh!

  8. Is it that I totally miss the Baby Boomer's fascination with this faux island jerk or do I find this totally in line with the man's corporate attitude towards merch?

I must be the only Boomer who finds Buffet stupid and repulsive at the same time.

Make him go away. He's made a shitpile of money. Yahoo! Congrats. Now leave and enjoy your wealth.
