Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer

Taking a sick day on a Friday sometimes gets the sick-ee a hard look from the workplace. Some folks figure the sick-ee is just angling for a three day weekend, while a few others just notice the work that's been added to their day because my throat is swollen shut and my temperature hit the 102 mark.

That's why I rarely take sick days, and the reason I stay in bed most times I do. (That and, of course, the fact that I'm a real baby when I'm sick.)

Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer kills the time between doses of NyQuil!

I didn't care for the first F4 flick. I prefer my heroes to have more of an edge, to be conflicted in some ways. The Fantastic Four have never really been anti-heroes, and the first film played out as more camp than drama.

And so did the sequel. It's fluff, and light. Camp, but with pretty cool special effects. Surfer isn't a film I'd enjoy on a average night of flick catching. But as a salve to my worst-flu-ever symptoms, it ain't bad at all!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I can already see that I'll enjoy yours. Two small kids means not much time to research movies, but if I catch good buzz about something, I can put it on my Netflix queue (which the Evil Twin has close to 300 titles on it already, so I'll see stuff I want to see evenutally LOL).

I hear ya, Evil Twin's Wife, I hear ya! Three kids here: 11, 7 and 4. NetFlix is my salvation.

And I really liked your blog!

Finally, don't put too much stock in my movie comments. Fact is, sometimes I don't even write about the movie I see, just something that it reminded me of.

I'm old...:)

Thanks for stopping in, and I hope you do so regularly!

After I heard about the $300 they spent on special effects for "Galactus," I am refusing to see it.

You won't miss anything. I, too, was really disappointed in how Galactus was portrayed. There was something just plain wrong about how it was done.

Curmy (the curmudgeon, hubby, and fellow misanthrope in love) heckles the TV so much whenever I put in a movie he doesn't like that I never made it through the first Fantastic Four. I thought Jessica Alba's boobs would keep him distracted. I was wrong.

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Thanks Buzzardbilly. It's chicken soup and Jessica Alba's boobs for me all weekend, I think.

Don't you love how your co-workers are more concerned about how your sickness affects themselves rather than your personal well-being?!? I'm going on week #2 of this crud and my co-workers were pissed cause they thought they'd have to do a storytime. Chumps. Well, I hope you feel better.

Elvis: Please forgive me!

Hey Suzy: With an extra helping of Nyquil, I never even notice any more! Hope you feel better, too! And thanks. :)

Our DC Heroes forgive you, Film Geek.

Get better soon, bro.

ah the "sicky look". That is the worst thing about being ill..not the symptoms, but the questioning and probing when you return back to work. hope you are feeling better soon mate!
