Please, Make It Stop: Part 13

From all accounts--including a source I know pretty well-- TV's straight-talking exploiter of people with problems just trumped Oprah in a public display of arrogance.

According to several reports, Dr. Phil McGraw showed up to visit Britney Spears at the hospital in which she was undergoing evaluations for her most recent display of unusual behavior. This despite the fact that McGraw:

(a) wasn't invited by Spears or the hospital;
(b) has no therapeutic relationship with Spears;
(c) has no clinical privilege at the hospital;

After visiting with Spears for a few minutes, McGraw stated publicly:

"My meeting with Britney and some family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention,' McGraw told the programs."

What are "the programs" to which McGraw made public statements about the health of a woman who is not his client?

Entertainment Tonight, and The Insider.

Dr. Phil just moved very close to Oprah on my Arrogant Celebs Who Think They Matter list.

Don't forget that his peeps were pimping his show this week all about the Britney crisis. Way to stir the pot, Phil!

People like Dr. Phil are what Natural Born Killers such a timeless classic- if you ask me.

JDB: Yet another bizarre twist to this strageness. That he was doing that causes me to be suspicious that he had an arrangement made with her Mom to do the special. And that it went bad when he visited at the hospital.

Elvis: I hear ya, and I understand. :)

To her family: Fix her or shut the fuck up.

I have never liked Dr. Phil. He's not even built a school anywhere to name after himself. Sheesh. Who does he think he is?

here is my two cents...from what I read, Britney's dad requested Dr. Phil to go to the hospital. And if I were a member of the Spears family, I would do some sort of interview. Couldn't hurt, we already think they family is full of freaks.

Dr. Phil is not and never has been licensed to practice. Further, he has ethics complaints that warranted sanctions by the ethics board of psychology in his state. Enough said.
