Ponderings

I'm a muller.

I've always been a person who questions things, and will probably never change. I mull over things hard, and often can't figure out the answers to what should be life's simplest questions.

You can typically find me pondering things like:

Why can't Robin Williams be reported about in print without being described as: "Funnyman Robin Williams?"

Why is every girlfriend, drink of wine and breath of air better for Tom Cruise than the last one he had?

Why doesn't my wife understand that it's Bruce Wayne that is the alter ego, while The Batman is the core persona?

If one member of 'N Sync was a girl, would they still be included in the genre of boy bands?

Why does there even exist such a genre?

Why does Oprah not realize O magazine's What I Know For Sure article sounds pretentious and vain?

Can there really be too much of a good thing? (If so, I've never experienced it.)

Is 40 the new 30? Or are those of us already there just foolin' ourselves?

Knowing what we now know about reality TV, why do people continue to try out for those shows?

Is blogging similar to the CB craze of the 70s?

Help!!

Cara: Mulling and pondering ain't answers, babe. I'm just asking the questions, not pretending to know the answers.

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

If you knew the answers....why would you ask? I don't really think you are being rhetorical, so I think you ask because you want to know the opinions of others.

BTW, you need to tell Mrs. Film Geek that Wayne IS the mask. When his parents were killed, THAT was when he ceased being Bruce Wayne and began his journey to becoming....something else. I could go on all day about that, but it would only demonstrate what a dork I am.

I am wondering one thing...Does The Film Geek work? If so, where does he find the time to wonder about all of these things? Better yet, write an entry about these things?

Jana: I was fired a couple weeks ago. Man, I wish you hadn't brought that up...

Let me guess...I have offended your mother too...your mother who has been dead for two years was also fired once!

I'm glad you brought that up.
I've said from day one the entire Internet is nothing but an extension of the CB radio. Sometimes I still take my handheld on the back porch and pick up truckers yapping back on forth as they travel on 64. Man now that's that some quality conversation!

Fired?
Did you go out in a blaze of glory? Literally? Because I would. I've been planning on getting fired for the past six years, but nothing has worked. My exit involves a dye pack, six eggs I've been hiding in my desk for over two years, and a key to my bosses bathroom I copied my first week there....over.

Jackie: The CB thing is a valid observation, for sure. I'm The Film Geek...in 1975 my dad was The Chicken Farmer (literally, as well as on the CB). It's the same.

Convoy....
Convoy....

Nah, I didn't get fired....just trying to make Jana feel bad is all. I like your plan, though. May I steal it, just in case?

Sure! Have at it.
I'm keeping the "top shelf" though. They'll rue the day they ever gave me a job, and benefits, and the opportunity to make a better life for myself and my family... >>insert manic laughing here<<

Knowing that you hate Oprah and knowing you,,,I think you probably picked up the magazine because you thought it was a magazine devoted to achieving the "Big O" - sorta like Cosmo. I made the same mistake at first....

I think those of us over 40 want to believe that 40 is the new 30. People who are 20 see it differently.

I was thinking about Jackie's statement that blogging is like the CB radio but isn't it more like graffiti in the bathroom stall with each person coming by and adding their own comments?
