Anybody Seen Shoeshine Boy?

Forget Ghost Rider.

By Disney Enterprises Inc

There's no need to fear, Underdog is here.

(Well, in August he will be anyway.)

This is one superhero flick I am really pumped up about!

Sweet! We got the Underdog DVD a couple of years ago and it was great watching the old episodes.

I'm not sure about switching from animation, but it should still be fun.

However, my favorite super hero canine remains Hong Kong Phooey... #1 super guy!

Yep, this should be fun. I'm a bit skeptical about the switch from animation too, although several movie of late seem to have pulled it off well. There was something sort of special about the way the Underdog series was done, though.

And I agree with the Hong Kong Phooey being the #1 super guy! I recently dialed up a couple of episodes from our Video On Demand, and the kids fell in love with the show. It rather validated my childhood, in an odd way...:)

I love me some Underdog! I'm also worried about the Ghost Rider adaptation, 'cause Nic Cage is going the way of Kevin Costner. Did you see "The Wicker Man" remake? Terrible movie.

I really don't like how Hollywood is so hot about making animated classics into live action movies. I wonder if it is because they think that too many adults will say "I don't wanna go see some stoopid cartoon" but they will go see a train wreck like the recent "Scooby Doo" or "Garfield" films?

To me the charm of the old cartoons was that the characters didn't have to be exact representations of dogs, cats, or anything else. They were stylized and you suspended disbelief because you knew that most dogs don't stand on two feet, fight crime, or fly.

Now we're going to have an actual dog who is going to somehow be able to talk and walk around and all of that? I don't think so!

Sorry for being a party pooper.

"The secret compartment of my ring I fill with an Underdog Super Energy Pill"

How's this dog gonna wear a ring? Or remove the pill without opposable thumbs?

I agree with JJ. This has massive stoopid potential.

They should not be messing with my sacred childhood memories!

You guys should have started your comments with "Back in my day..." and something about walking to school and back over miles of hip-deep snow!

We have the technology. We can make this happen!

I hope...I'm not so sure myself.

Yeah, using a live-action dog looks like a huge mistake. Follow the example of the Bullwinkle movie!

... Or maybe not. But hey, at least that one got DeNiro!
