This Is Only A Test

"Testing, testing...Is this thing on? Testing...The Film Geek Is Dead."

Look, I said it's only a test.

Way too often, just when I start really enjoing a particular blogger, he or she stops writing. Sometimes for long periods of time--several weeks, or even months--the blogger will post nothing. I'm sure it's because they have more important things going on in their lives. But the fact is, I don't.

So, I keep going back to their site, day after day, hoping to be entertained.

I'm always curious what's going on in the life of the absent blogger. Has he or she taken a vacation? Lost the muse? Maybe he's ill, and in the hospital.

Or worse: Maybe the absent blogger has died.

That's why I've tutored Mrs. Film Geek in how to access the dialogue box for this blog so she can report to anyone (who cares) about my demise, should I die unexpectedly. My instructions? Simply log in, click on "New Post" and type:

"There will now be a brief intermission: The Film Geek has died."

I turned another year older this week. And people who know me well know that means I'm full of angst. So, I'm making plans.

Sure, it's macabre. But, at least you'll know.

I do the same thing. Especially when I have a "quiet day", I will check-in on certain blogs several times.

When you stop focusing on age life become a bit more fun. ;)

Happy Birthday and Rest In Peace.

Ha! Thanks Muze!

Yeah, I got that "don't focus on it" idea down. It's the ability not to focus on it that I'm lacking.

I knew it was your birthday but as well as I know you, knew not to call. Plus, Mrs. Geek told me you had a tooth pulled and were acting like a big baby! LOL

Hope you had a good one!

Thanks Kelly! The tooth pull was postponed due to, uh...complications.

I kept waiting for the obligatory blogger b-day post. You know, I suspect you're probably enjoying several blogs that I read too, and I also wonder why some folks stop writing. I usually assume that it's not related to anyone's demise but because of legal issues. ;)

Anyway, Happy (belated) Birthday!

Finally! The Birthday post!
And let me just say you don't look a day over 52... Enjoy the wooden teeth :D

Also, are you talking about me!?! I swear I've been trying to blog, I'm just in a rut...

Hey Hoyt, thanks for the (belated) wishes! :) Yep, I'd suppose they are the same absent bloggers. Somehow, though, I still keep 'em bookmarked on "Favorites."

I forgot that your son and I share the same birthday week, Hoyt. A Gemini in the Donutbuzz household...oh.my.god! :)

Jackie: I may need wooden teeth! The "complcations" I mentioned earlier was, when I got into the oral surgeon's chair, he informed me I need two teeth extracted, not one. So, I'm on more antibiotics.

Thanks for the "52 years old" compliment. lol I'm only happy I still have hair. (ahem)

And nope, not talking about you.

You also share a birthday-week with my son.

Hope your birthday was a good one.

This year I'm 29. Next year I plan on being 29.95 plus shipping and handling.

Hey Rebecca: Happy birthday to your young Jedi as well. I really enjoyed the post you did about it. It was very good!

I like your strategy. I might adopt it myself!

Happy Birthday.

Had I remembered I would have made you a chocolate cake, insisted that nobody really wanted to eat the dry ol' cake and then I would have called you every five minutes to see how it was.
